In need of help on a writing project this summer?

Florida State University’s Reading-Writing Center is open again for the 2023 Summer B semester until Aug. 4.

Catherine Deborah Davidson-Hiers, known more commonly as CD, is a Florida State University English alumna who has built an extensive journalism career since her time at FSU.

Some of her more recent professional undertakings set Davidson-Hiers in her most cherished place: the outdoors. Her passion for the environment has been with Davidson-Hiers since her childhood. She grew up in Florida’s Panhandle on a 40-acre horse farm, with half the property wild and undeveloped.

Once Zach Cannon graduated from Florida State University in 2008, he did not wait long to jump on his chosen career path.

He earned dual degrees in English-Creative Writing and Communication-Media Production, and he soon moved to New Zealand, landing a job as a runner at Weta Digital, now known as Wētā FX. At the time Cannon joined the company, it was finishing post-production on the first Avatar movie.
