Students interested in the History of Text Technologies can major within the English department’s newest track: “Editing, Writing, and Media.” The new track focuses on the creation and interpretation of texts by combining practice in writing and editing with the study of cultural history and criticism. Courses connect writing practice and critical study so as to confront the new challenges of digital technology, visual culture, and the Internet. For more information on the curriculum, see the department’s Editing, Writing, and Media site .
Listed on the undergraduate course page are courses in the new major that are particularly relevant to the history of text technologies. As enrollments in the new major expand, some sections of these courses may be taught by graduate students in the HoTT doctoral program.
