Brief Description of Events

Events are divided by program to manage the number of participants in each Zoom session. 

Coffee hours and happy hours are hosted by graduate students and will be largely informal. Some faculty members might stop by for a chat, but this is a chance to ask questions of folks who are in the same position you will be.

The faculty meetups are a chance for you to interact with some faculty members in your program.

The Jerome Stern Distinguished Writers Series is our weekly reading series. Please feel free to attend and enjoy our readers' poetry and prose! Please note: the link for the Jerome Stern Distinguished Writers Series will take you to a page where you can register for the reading. Just enter your email address and you will receive a link momentarily.

The Info Session on Placement will be hosted by Dr. Tarez Graban and will focus on how FSU will prepare you to enter the job market. The Info Sessions on Teaching will be hosted by Dr. Michael Neal and will focus on the courses you will be teaching, as well as the summer TA training program.

The GESO (Graduate English Student Organization) gathering is an informal social event which will be hosted and attended solely by graduate students.
