English majors display their research and creativity
By Elizabeth Chailosky
The Center for Undergraduate Research and Academic Engagement is holding its annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Thursday, April 1, from noon to 4:15 p.m.
Each year, the Undergraduate Research Symposium invites hundreds of student researchers to present their work as poster and creative presentations to the Tallahassee community. This year’s event is virtual, and the symposium organizers will use the conference management app Whova. Through the app, attendees and presenters are able to connect and engage with one another using Zoom links.
Fifteen English majors (listed below) are participating in the symposium, and the support of students, faculty, and staff members in the department is encouraged as they present their research.
To begin the symposium, creative projects presented as oral presentations will take place during the Nourishing Creativity Hour. Students will then have the opportunity to learn more about ways to engage on campus during the symposium’s Campus Partner Sessions. Poster session A takes place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., with poster session B scheduled from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Student attendees and participants will also have the opportunity to interact with campus partners such as Garnet and Gold Scholar Society and the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program.
In order to attend, you must register by 10 a.m. on April 1 using this Qualtrics link. The registration form must be completely filled out in order to be added to the Whova system. Once added, an email will be sent to you with further instructions. From there, follow the email instructions in order to create a Whova account. If you have any questions, please email cre@fsu.edu.
