CRW 4320 Kirby Spring 2021

CRW 3311 (Poetic Technique) is the prerequisite for this class, and you need the instructor’s permission (write dkirby@fsu.edu). Every week, you’ll be turning in a new poem and also commenting on a section of the required textbook, Christian Wiman’s Joy (ISBN 978-0300248630). There’ll be discussions, group projects, and lots and lots of one-on-one action. You’ll need to have some poetry chops before you sign up for this class, but I guarantee you’ll have a lot more by the time we’re finished. This is a very specialized class and one that’s not easy to get into, but if you do and you work with me, I’ll do everything I can to make sure you achieve your poetic goals.
