This course will examine the rhetorics of the 20th and 21st centuries by exploring key historical moments, figures, and movements that have been shaped by and helped to shape our current (Western) society and the rhetorics we engage in. Our historical examination will specifically explore the role power plays in shaping rhetoric and in determining which voices have historically been included and excluded from our societal and academic discourses.
