ENG 3310 Spring 2024 - Sokolowski

Students will examine the themes and techniques of both genre-bending films and films that are adapted from literary texts. Students will discuss film in terms of relationship to literary genres, historical continuity, and transformation of genre in the film medium. Students will write and speak critically about recurring patterns, conventions, and film techniques. Furthermore, students will be able to express their ideas concerning the cultural values represented or challenged by particular genres.
