The Editing Internship is designated as a Formative Experience course; as such, it enables students to gain practical work experience in professional fields and career paths of interest. Students define their specific learning objectives in their internship contracts, based on the type of organization at which they are interning, the nature of the work, and how the internship relates to broader career interests and goals. Internships enable students to take the skills and knowledge acquired in classroom settings and apply and expand them in professional settings. The course is restricted to English majors, and core courses must be completed before enrolling.
