LIT 2010 Spring 2024

This course examines novels written by African-American authors that have been adapted to film and television. We will draw upon story mechanics to analyze craft in each text – both on page and on screen. Our objective is to identify elements of storytelling that are central to fiction while evaluating how filmmakers (screenwriters and directors) translate what we read into what we view.
