Introduction to African American Literature
Vince Omni
Students in this course will read texts written by African Americans from the era of slavery to the 1980s, with an emphasis on contemporary women writers. Each text is meant to be representative a specific period in the African American literary tradition, which means students will also learn about the historical contexts that helped to shape these seminal works of literature.
