LIT 2010.001 Summer 2023 Odendahl

This course is focused on writing and reading fiction, wherever that pursuit leads us. While the class is centered around workshop—everyone will compose one short story, which they will distribute to the class for feedback—the primary element of this class is engagement in writing exercises and deep reading, as well as contribution to class discussion. By the end of this course, students will have composed a literary masterpiece that will jump-start not only their career, but the very essence of their understanding of life and happiness. Furthermore, because of the high social status given to writers nowadays, you will also find that, after this course, platonic and romantic relationships come easy, and your soul will be filled with a Zen-like loving-kindness for all creatures.
