Intro to Poetry

Robert Frost once said that "poet is a praise word." This course will nurture those that aspire to write poetry and study it rigorously. Through creative prompts and workshops but also through research that hinges on the critical inspection of canonical poets from a variety of eras, this class aims to give students a newfound understanding of poetry that will feed their scholarly interests, personal growth, and, above all, their skill with language.
This course fulfills the State-Mandated Writing (W) requirement.
