LIT 2000-0003 – Spring 2027 – Rapier

Metamorphosis is an abrupt change, a massive alteration in form. Portals are thresholds and gateways to new worlds. Literature, as an art form, is in a constant state of evolution-– what literature transformed the world? From Sappho and Homer to Shakespeare and Dante, this course will navigate literary evolution from Babylon and Ancient Greece to Britain and beyond. This course will boost critical thinking and analytical skills. This course offers an overview of literary histories and groundbreaking works. The readings will include selections from the Western canon, and written analysis of literary works will be required.
All levels of experience are welcome.
This course fulfills the State-Mandated Writing (W) credit.
