ENC 4404 – Spring 2027 – Al-Khateeb

This course engages with ‚"design" from a rhetorical perspective. Course readings will introduce theoretical and practical perspectives that problematize static conceptions of design and emphasize a rhetorical approach to producing and designing texts and/as technologies. Throughout the course, we will compose, revise, and design texts while practicing the rhetorical principles of localization, usability, accessibility, and human-centered design. This course offers students the opportunity to develop tools for producing and circulating a diversity of texts that address a wide range of audiences and contexts, with an emphasis on rhetorical considerations in design.
**This course does not include a copyediting component or focus on copyediting.
