Poets have been learning from each other for centuries. In Poetic Technique, you will learn from the poets who came before you. Be open to influence as you read the weekly packet of poems. Each week you will learn how to write a certain kind of poem: monologue, self-portrait, ekphrastic, experimental, sestina and more. After you've read and studied the poems up for the week, write a poem of your own. Post your poem to Canvas and reply to poems by your peers. By the end of the course, you will have written 10 new poems using a variety of techniques.
