CRW 3311 – Spring 2027 – Laganas

How can a few carefully chosen words change the way we feel, imagine, and understand the world around us? In our course, we'll explore how poets transform language into shared experiences that surprise, delight, and move us. Through close reading, thoughtful conversation, creative experimentation, and generative workshops, we'll learn to notice the choices poets make on the page so we can approach language with a sense of play. We'll try things out, take creative risks, and pursue the ideas that spark our curiosity. Together, we'll discover that there isn't one path to writing a poem. Instead, we'll find our own ways of making meaning on the page.
