ENL 2022 - Fall 2026 - Faulk

Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, James Joyce, Daphne du Maurier, Samuel Beckett, Muriel Spark, and Kazuo Ishiguro are some of the writers we’ll read and study together in this survey of British Literature from 1800 to the present day. Our course reading will cover literary movements from romanticism and victorianism to postmodernism and beyond; along the way, we will consider how British colonialism and decolonization shaped its literary history.
