LIT 3383 - Fall 2026 - Crockett

In this course, students study women writers, editors, readers, and/or the portrayal of women in literary texts. Individual sections vary in emphasis. 

This course examines writing by women and the portrayal of women in literature, film, and popular culture. Students will consider how terms like woman and femininity have shifted over time, and how women writers use fiction, memoir, and film to explore identity. Readings may include work by Nella Larsen, Emily Austin, Rivers Solomon, and Torrey Peters. Each primary text is paired with secondary literature and sources.
