In this course, we will first examine influential poetic schools including Romanticism, Imagism, Objectivism, the Beat movement, New York School, Black Mountain poets, Deep Image, Confessional poetry, and Language poetry etc. By understanding these traditions, you'll develop a broader context for your own creative practice and discover which approaches resonate with your artistic vision. By the end of this workshop, you'll have a portfolio of new poems, a deeper understanding of the poetic craft, and the skills to continue developing your poetic voice.
