Tuesday Readings at the Warehouse

It's called the Warehouse because it once was just that. The reading space is a sprawling room that reaches up to exposed rafters, and back to a spacious outdoor deck lined with trees hung with Spanish moss. But don't let the rough-hewn charm fool you; a raised stage and great acoustics make this an excellent venue to hear a consistently high-quality line-up of poets and writers.

Before and after the readings, the adjacent room features a bar, a jukebox and pool tables to boot. Tuesday night reading are a long standing tradition at FSU, an opportunity to relax, have a beer, see friends and faculty, shoot a game of pool and, of course, hear some great writers!

These weekly readings arranged by the FSU English Department feature graduate students as well as a diverse and distinguished group of visitng writers. All readings are held at the Warehouse (706 W. Gaines) at 8:00 p.m. This fall semester, second-year Ph.D. Poetry candidates, and Warehouse Co-Hosts, Josef Quattro and Michael Garriga are also the emcees.
