Shannon McLachlan, Humanities Editor at Oxford University Press (Oxford USA), visited the FSU English department on February 25, 2008. Ms. McLachlan is the editor responsible for Literary Studies, American Studies, and Film at Oxford University Press. During her visit she gave a presentation and answered questions about recent trends, problems, and developments within the world of scholarly publishing in literary studies.
Her visit also consisted of two days of individual consultations with students interested in having her read and comment on their book proposals—a great opportunity to meet with and get useful advice from a major scholarly editor!
Shannon’s visit was part of the Literature Program's ongoing Visiting Scholarly Editor Series that has been generously funded over the past eight years by Robert Olen Butler.
