Under the dark tent of the night, Railroad Square rose up like a revival meeting. If you’ve ever been to First Friday, you’ll know what I mean, and if you haven’t—don’t live here a full year before your ever expanding tail end takes in a new view. That's what I did and here's what I was missing …

All manner of galleries were displaying paintings, jewelry, yarn goods, your-loss-my-gain furniture/clothes/tchotchkes live bands, live alligators (alright, it just sounded so good!) and for those who didn’t recognize this as a hippie hotbed: drum circles.

And you don’t have to be a hippie to enjoy it, hell, it’s one size fits all and I guarantee that you alone, you and your child, you and your sig other, you and your cat-on-a-leash would find it an evening super well spent. I did. Barry Faulk did. Elaine Suber did. And so did several hundred more interesting residents of Tallahassee.

This event is on held on the first Friday of every month. For more info: http://www.netcrc.org/friday.html
