Submission Guidelines
The Conference Program Committee welcomes the submission of paper and panel proposals related to the conference theme, either through theoretical discussion or readings of particular aesthetic works.
Papers may be in the fields of critical theory, film, or literature exclusively, or may focus on relations among literature, film, and other media.
For paper proposals, please submit a 500-word (max.) abstract and a 75-word (max.) vitae paragraph. Submit a Paper Proposal.
Panels will be accepted or rejected as a whole. If applicable, please indicate on paper or panel proposal which form(s) of audio-visual support will be required. Panels will be 90 minutes in length and may consist of either 3 to 4 papers or 2 to 3 papers and a respondent. Panels may be chaired by one of the presenters, but no individual may present more than one paper or organize more than one panel. Abstracts of individual paper proposals are not necessary, only the bios of the proposed participants. An abstract of the overall Panel Topic should be provided in the appropriate box. Presentations should be no longer than twenty minutes and panel chairs are responsible for ensuring there is adequate time for discussion.
For panel proposals, please submit an 800-word (max.) panel description summarizing the panel's rationale and describing each paper, and a 75-word (max.) vitae paragraph for each speaker. Submit a Panel Proposal.
The deadline for submissions is November 1, 2006.
The program committee will send an email confirming receipt of each submission and expects to notify participants regarding acceptance within 4 weeks of the deadline for submissions (that is, by November 30, 2006).
